News shots 03-29-09
The economy is boring me. Nobody is doing anything fun in politics right now, but let’s take some potshots at what I can.I’m also finding it hard to find news from sources that aren’t just Republican or Democratic newsletters. Please recommend some primary sources for me, I’d rather use those for arguments. I’ve decided to avoid huffpo, Dailykos, and quite a few others.
John Hodgman started this whole thing about Meh, proving that he isn’t an expert in everything (though I do like the guy). Personally, I use “meh” quite a bit to indicate that whatever was just said wasn’t even worth a full syllable of consideration.
More proof that they just don’t get it. This should be fun.
Jindal on wanting Obama to fail
Less crazy and stupid than Rush. Almost intelligent, in fact.
Clinton asks who painted Our Lady of Guadalupe
Tradition holds that it was painted by God, but I think He would have done just…well…better, you know? I probably wouldn’t have known, either, but you know, I’m not the Sec of State on a tour of the place…
Bill in Maine would allow immigrants to vote in local elections
This is of course sponsored by Democrats, and part of the justification is in encouraging people to pursue citizenship. I thought that wanting the right to vote was an incentive to pursue citizenship, but I could be wrong.
Republicans still sticking to less spending is the path to recovery
Right, because all of that not spending on Homes, cars, services, durable goods and American made things is really doing the economy good. Sure. Oh, wait how about a tax cut for the rich, too? You know how they’re struggling…..
I love how they try to influence us by saying Obama’s budget is a massive step to the left. No, I think you have that wrong. The last two elections were massive step away from the right. There’s a big difference there. He also misses the mark on health care, stating the way is through health insurance not through nationalization. Of course, employer paid health insurance is a burden to our industries that competitors don’t have to deal with, and which puts us at a distinct disadvantage in global trade.
Evolution in Texas Schoolrooms… But then again
Seems to me having a Board of Education Chairman who is also a Creationist is a conflict of interests, but I’m just saying.
Looks like we’re not the only ones
PM Gordon Brown gets pwned in Parlaiment.
Facebook Users Sending the Pope Millions of Condoms
After the Pope claimed that abstinence is the way, and condoms don’t work and only serve to make the problem worse, millions of facebook users are sending the Pope some. This is hacktivism at its finest.
